The term "Smart Grid" has been coined to describe a revolution across the
world’s electricity distribution industry, necessary to meet the environmental
and energy demands of the 21st century and beyond.
The foundation for this massive undertaking will be the development and implementation of a new and
ubiquitous Communications architecture - delivering real time control and interaction across every power
network element – and connecting each individual source of generation and consumption.
The Smart Grid Solutions (SGS) team have been active for over five years in Smart Grid related research,
product development and investment analysis.
SGS can also make available our network of partners and associates from leading academic, industrial and
service organisations, who are all involved in the first important steps towards realisation of the Smart Grid vision.
